Answers
1 What is ASP hosting?

An ASP (Application Service Provider) is a company that delivers applications - software through the Internet and charges a monthly fee. Traditionally, software is sold and you install it on your hard drive or your office's server. ASPs don't operate this way. They deliver software as a monthly service and use the Internet as the medium.
2 What is ProjectXnet?

ProjectXnet is an ASP web based application hosting and management that allows you to utilize a multitude of programs you have selected all centralized through one portal point of entry. This frees you from having to install, update, and maintain programs or documents on your own computer and gives you the flexibility to manage all of your documents, e-mail and applications from anywhere, anytime through a single Internet connection. Hosted applications include: Prolog Manager, Document Locator, Outlook Exchange with BlackBerry, Primavera and many more. ProjectXnet makes Project Management and Scheduling software web-based, reliable and secure.
3 What are the benefits of using ProjectXnet or using an ASP (Application Service Provider)?

With ProjectXnet, instead of using an application that runs on your own desktop, you login via the Internet and use a web-based application to perform tasks online.

The benefits of ProjectXnet:
4 What if I already have purchased the licenses and want to migrate to an ASP model?
Many of our clients already own licenses for the software they use. Generally, we request some proof or letter stating that the licenses are owned. We can manage and deliver your applications. If the client doesn't have sufficient software licenses, they have two options: (1) Buy them outright or (2) pay us monthly if the vendor offers it. Microsoft, the largest software vendor, offers all of their software titles on a monthly rental basis. We do not profit from software licensing. Whether you purchase or rent, only our cost gets passed on to you.
5 What about software licensing & upgrades?
Regarding upgrades, we generally obtain the latest software versions as soon they become available. We do not remove previous versions so you always have the option of keeping the older version.
6 Where does ProjectXnet fit in?
ProjectXnet is a cross between a software hosting company and an IT outsourcing firm. We deliver value by offering small and medium-sized businesses a superior way to use technology altogether. For businesses with 2 to 200 computer users, we deliver all of the benefits listed above and more. We become your IT department - your servers, your help desk and your means of accessing your systems from anywhere. ProjectXnet is the smartest and most cost-effective alternative to the traditional network.
7 What applications are available with ProjectXnet?

9 Will my data be safe?
At first, most people are uneasy with the fact their data will no longer reside onsite. It's a valid concern. The sense of security most people feel when data is housed onsite is based more on perception than on reality. Do you really know who walks around your office? Are you positive that your backups will be there when they're needed? What if a disgruntled employee decides to do some damage? What's to prevent employees from copying private data? Is the office connected to the Internet using a DSL line or a T1 that might be breached by some clever hacker? What's to prevent an intruder from accessing the server? If a competitor wanted to get a hold of the customer list, would you even be aware that there have been attempts to break into the system?
Your data is always secure with ProjectXnet Hosting. We are sensitive to concerns businesses have when using a data center. That is why ProjectXnet uses a World-Class private Data Center facility.

Your data will always remain private, secure, and virus free. Our Data Center features Hand-scan required to enter controlled areas, 24/7 time-in & time-out visitor logs maintained by security staff. All server systems are fully redundant and our facility is climate controlled. Our Global IP Network is designed to move Internet traffic at the highest speeds possible. We utilize the most advanced technologies to provide fast, efficient and accurate data transport. This allows you to stay focused on building your business.
10 My business may grow soon. Is it easy to adjust my users' levels?
We will upgrade or downgrade your service and user levels within a few hours. All you need to do is contact our support staff and we will make adjustments to your account immediately. This results in tremendous cost savings as you do not have to invest in purchasing multiple licenses that may not be used in the future.
11 What if my office's Internet connection goes down?
Your Internet connection is your only responsibility. There's no way around it: If you don't have Internet access, you won't be able to run your applications and access your data. Fortunately, this is a simple problem to overcome.

Have a backup way to get on the Internet. Most clients access the Internet via a DSL or T1 connection to their office. Smaller offices and homes usually have cable modems - and of course, there's dial-up. Most offices today already have these data lines installed and are familiar with how frequently or infrequently they're down.

Most people experience very positive results. Your line may only go down once every 3 to 4 months, and for very short periods of time. Occasionally, people have poor results where the line will go down regularly and it makes sense to switch providers or carriers. The truth is this: These days, most data lines are cheap and reliable. Nonetheless, every business should have a backup connection to the Internet. Even clients who haven't had an issue with their line for 12 to 18 months are wise to at least have an active dial-up account in case of an emergency.
